On Sunday we travelled to Rochfordbridge for our opening game of the championship The first quarter was an evenly contested with The Downs holding the minimum advantage 0: to 0:2, however The Downs dominated the scoring in the final quarter of the half to hold the lead at halftime by 1:6 to 0:2. Ballinagore upped their game in the second half to out score The Downs and reduce the winning margin to 4 points. Under 16 League The Downs 3:19 St Pauls 0:9
The Downs started poorly and after 12 minutes were down 0:4 to 0:1. The Downs improved for the remainder of the half and went in at halftime leading 2:5 to 0:5. Again The Downs started poorly with St Pauls scoring the first three points to reduce their deficit to three points. The Downs picked up the pace taking control of the game and ran out conceiving winners. Under 10 The Downs V St Lomans
We played St Lomans in an enjoyable game on Monday evening; the first half was evenly contested with The Downs holding a slight advantage at halftime. The Downs continued to improve their performance in the second half and ran our impressive winners. Team: Ryan Moran, Adam Loughlin, Sean Loughlin, Joe Moran, Keith Carroll. Under 8 The Downs V Ballynacargy
The under 8’s had a home win over a youthful Ballynacargy side on Saturday
morning. A reminder regarding the next under 8 Go Games 7-a-side blitz takes place in the Downs on this Thursday May 22nd. All players to be on pitch no later than 6pm.
Lost Property
An amount of lost clothing has accumulated in the dressing rooms, anyone who would like to retrieve lost property contact team coaches.

All players should have their membership paid; membership can be paid to team coaches or any committee member

Registration is now due, any player who has not paid can pay team coaches. Registration with the Ladies Football Club is separate from the Gaa Club.

Under 12 The Downs V Athlone
On Tuesday evening we travelled to Athlone to take on the home side in a keenly fought first half Athlone got the goals that gave them a two goal advantage at halftime. The Downs upped their game in the second half and with five minutes remaining trailed by a goal, but despite enormous pressure on the Athlone goal we could not get the score to give us a share of the points
