Under 12 League The Downs 4:3 Shamrocks 1:7
The under 12 Blacks secured a deserved win in their first game of the season on Wednesday last in Mulllingar.

U14 league , The Downs 2:3 Moate 1:6
Playing away on Monday evening in their first game of the season The Downs came away with a draw.


Underage Training
Underage training for 6 to 12 year olds on Fridays at 6.30
Children under 6 are welcome to attend for informal coaching but must be under parent/adult supervision

Under 12 League The Downs 4:6 St Pauls 2:2
Playing at home on Tuesday last The Downs got their season off to a winning start with an impressive performance. From the throw in The Downs gained the upper hand and the result was never in doubt despite a spirited second half performance from St Pauls.

Under 14 League The Downs 3:5 Athlone 1:9
At home on Thursday evening The Downs gained a narrow victory at the end of very competitive game. The Downs started slowly and found it difficult to get to the speed of the game with Athlone going into a five point lead in the first quarter, but the Downs finished the half a point ahead having scored 1:3 in the second quarter. The second half proved as close as the first with The Downs emerging with a two point win. Well done to both teams and mentors who despite the intensity and competitiveness of the game played it in a very sporting manner.
