Division 2 Minor Club Championship final
The Downs 4:9 St Malachys/Ballinagore 1:13
In Shandonagh on Saturday afternoon we played St Malachys/Ballinagore, The Downs started the game by going into an early lead and despite an improving St Malachys/Ballinagore side we went in at half time leading 1:6 to 0:4. St Malachys/Ballinagore started the second half by reducing the lead to two points but two goals by The Downs put eight points between the sides. St Malachys/Ballinagore responded again and reduced the difference to two points. The Downs upped their game and again goaled and added two excellent frees to gain a deserved win. Well done to the players and their mentors for all their hard work during the year. Team: Niall O’Doherty, Adam Corcoran, Shane Egerton, Kevin Bell, Ben Hogan, Shane Brogan, Trevor McCormack, David McDermott, Alan Finch, Adam Price, Sean McCormack, Mark Conroy, Niall Folan, Alan McGrath, Harry Caulfield. Subs Used: David Smith, Dean Clarke, Gary Conroy, Kevin Smullen, Shane Carroll, Brendan Flynn, Ryan Holmes, Cian Carthy, James Duggan.
