On Tuesday last we played the county champion at home in what proved to be an excellent game of football, with no more than two points separating the teams throughout the result was contested right up to the final whistle.

Both our Teams had their opening league fixture on Wednesday 1st April.
Group A
The Downs “Black” 5-14 : Delvin 1-4.
The Downs played Delvin, away, in a good game of open football in which all players were given a run out.
The roll on roll off rule and the home referee system worked very well.
Well done to all players and parents who attended the game and thanks to Delvin for a very sporting match

The “Ambers” had home advantage when they played Shandonagh in an entertaining game, played in a very sporting manner.
The whole panel was used on the night and some very fine football played. Again, well done to all players and thanks to the many parents who turned up to support the team. Thanks also to Shandonagh.
