We played St Lomans in the first round of the Shandonagh league on Saturday in two well contested and sporting games. Thanks to St Lomans for travelling out. U12 Football Results & News.
The Downs Amber played Mullingar Shamrocks away Wed 20th May,
coming out winners after a titanic match 4:14 to 0:20.
The Downs Black played St Lomans at home Wed 20th May,
putting in a stirling display to win 3:15 to 1:6.
These games complete the first phase of the U12 competition with each of our
teams topping their groups. Well done to all players and trainers involved.
The next phase promises to be a lot harder!

The Downs U12 team played St Judes (Dublin) in a football challenge game
in the Downs on Sunday afternoon. This was an enjoyable game and day for all
involved. Special thanks to all the backroom volunteers for their help.
Paddy Doherty did a great job by stepping to referee the football match.
We have been invited to play St Judes in a return game later this year.
Thanks also to Clonkill who started the day with an under 12 hurling game with St Judes.
Senior Championship The Downs 2:7 St Lomans 3:12
On Sunday last we suffered our second defeat of the championship, conceding three goals in the first half and a poor scoring return left us with an impossible task in the second half. The second half saw a more purposeful performance which saw us out score St Lomans.

The Downs Ladies Football
Training
Training for the junior and minor ladies continues on Tuesday and Friday. New members are always very welcome, come along and bring a friend.

The U14 girls training is on Monday at 6.30 o clock
Under 16 and Under 18 training on Friday @ 7.30

Results
Our under 14 team continued their successful league with an impressive win over Killucan on Thursday last.
The Junior team short a number of regulars went down to a strong Ballycomoyle side on Sunday morning.
