The Downs 1-05 Athlone 0-05
Our under 16 team were at home to Athlone on Sunday morning last and despite poor weather conditions both teams served up high quality football with high levels of commitment. The Downs went in at halftime 0:3 to 0:1 ahead The Downs scored a deserved goal 15 minutes into the second half and withstood strong Athlone pressure to secure the points.

There will be a meeting of underage coaches on Monday 20th of February at 8 o’clock anyone with an interest in underage football is invited to attend.
Scor
The club was competing in Senior Scor on Friday last, our Figure Dancers (Sinead Lynam, Niamh Moriarity, Geraldine Dagg, Michelle Carthy, Grainne Noone, Lorraine Noone, Laura Murtagh, Margaret Monaghan), Solo Singer (Jenny Mc Namee) Recitation (Monica Smith) and Set Dancers (Brenda Deihy, Sinead Lynam, Grainne O’Dowd, Yvonne Murphy, George Coyle, Colm Rowan, Greg Crowley, Conor Carley) qualified for the county final unfortunately the Novelty Act (Christy Dalton, Noel Lynam, Kevin Cleary Sinead Lynam, Niamh Moriarity Anthony Rowan) and Ballad Group (Jenny McNamee, Brendan Cleary, Niamh Moriarity, Trudie Rowan) narrowly missed out despite excellent performances
All Roads lead to Athlone on Saturday for the Junior Scor all Ireland where our junior Set Dancers are competing; they carry the good wishes of everyone in the area.
Best of luck to the other Westmeath clubs competing Mullingar Shamrocks and Coralstown Kinnegad.
Dinner Dance
The club dinner dance and championship medal presentation is on the 24th of February in the Mullingar Park Hotel, tickets are €40 and can be booked with Aiden McGuire 086-2532327 or any committee member

The closing date for enrolment is Monday 20th of February. Enrolment forms can be obtained from the school
