Mullingar Shamrocks 2-04 The Downs 0-09

Mullingar Shamrocks two goals in the first half saw them go in at halftime 2:4 to 0:3 ahead. The Downs made the best of their scoring chances in the second half and scored a further six points to none from Shamrocks, but despite a tremendous effort The Downs could not get the equaliser and a share of the points.

Jubilee 1980 Championship Winning Team

The 1980 championship winning team will be honoured with a 25th celebration on December the 28th in the clubhouse. All are welcome to join in what promises to be the highlight of the Christmas season.

We have just come to the end of a fantastic year for The Downs GAA Club. We brought back to The Downs the Senior Championship Title and our underage structure is getting stronger every year. Thanks to all the players, the back room team, underage coaches, club members and supporters. To our finance committee and all who support our club lotto every week, to all our sponsors and especially our main sponsor Flynn Fuels, to our Executive and Committee and to all our Sub-Committees. Our sympathy to members who have suffered bereavements in the past year. Wishing a happy Christmas and peace health and happiness in 2006.
