Results

Minor football championship div 1 semi final

The Downs 6-8, Shandonagh 2-11 played in Ballynacargy.

Don't be fooled by the winning margin, this game was much closer than the scoreline suggests. Trailing by 3 at the break (1-5,1-2) our lads struggled to get a grip on this game until the closing stages. The lads go on to play Rosemount in the county final which will be the curtain raiser for the senior final on Sunday October 11th in Cusack Park.

U14 Div 1 County Final

The Downs 1-17, Coralstown Kinnegad 3-9
What a game in Cusack Park. 3 points down at half time, the lads came out firing on all cylinders and took control of the game with some brilliant point taking to go 8 ahead. However, Kinnegad rallied and narrowed the gap to 2 points but thankfully the final whistle blew to send the title to The Downs for the first time since 1980 - 35 years !
