Underage Training
Training for the under 6 to under 12s continues on Fridays 6.30 to 7.30 . Registration can be paid at any training session. Free gum shields for under 6 to under 10 courtesy of Haven Pharmacy.

Cards for The annual Al-Ireland ticket draw are now available. We are looking for sellers, cards available from Sean Carroll. Draw is on Friday 18th in the clubhouse music on the night.
STRICTLY COME DANCING
The club in conjunction with The Downs Ladies Football are delighted to confirm we will be holding a STRICTLY COME DANCING night on Saturday November 14th in the Mullingar Park Hotel. We will have a Launch Night in the clubhouse on Saturday October 3rd. Watch this place for more details - it's gonna be a cracker !

League Div 2 The Downs 0:13 St. Mary's Rochfortbridge 0:12
We travelled to Rochfordbridge on Sunday morning for a must win game for both clubs which was reflected in the closeness of the scores throughout. With no more than two points separating the sides at any time and level many occasions. The Downs only held the lead when they went ahead in added time to secure a one point win and take the two points on offer. Team: Ciaran McCormack, Peter Murray, Mark Dalton, Owen Moore, Niall Nolan, Jack Hogan, Conor Coughlan, PJ Maguire, Dean Clarke, Philip Doherty, Luke Folan, Kevin Smullen, Niall Folan, Niall Mitchell, Andrew Kilmartin. Subs Used: Conor Murray, Dean Egerton, James Conroy.
Under 14. The under 14s secure a place in the final with an impressive semi âfinal win over Millmore Gaels.

Under 14 B Semi-Final The Downs 4:8 Mullingar Shamrocks 3:6
On Sunday in Killucan we came out on the right side of a tightly contested game the sides were level at halftime 3:3 each. The second half saw The Downs defence on top and made Shamrocks work hard for their scores while the we picked off our points when the opportunities arose . A goal with ten minutes remaining gave The Downs a margin of 1:3 which proved to be enough to secure the cup.
Well done to all the girls and their coaches in winning the championship which was especially sweet following last years heartbreak at this age group
Junior Championship Semi-Final. The Downs 2:7 Shandonagh 0:6
On Monday the 31st we travelled to Kinnegad for the championship semi-final, in a nervous first half despite having the greater share of possession we ended the half 0:5 to 0:2 down. The Second half saw a much improved performance as we went on to gain a place in the final.
Under 12 Semi -Final: The under team travelled to Clonmellon to take on Delvin/St Pauls. In a closely contested game we unfortunately lost by two points .
Under 12 Blitz. On Saturday we hosted a blitz with St Lomans, Shandonagh and Delvin/St Pauls joining us. We done to everyone who helped out.

Clothes Collections
The Ladies Football are collecting bags of clothes as a fundraiser, so you can now de- clutter and help the club raise funds. Bags of clothes can be left with any team coach or committee member. Please ask family, neighbours, friend and co-workers to fill a bag.
Clothes can be left in the Blue Bin beside the scoreboard.
